While at Mandawa you must take a walking tour of the painted ‘havelis’ of some of the leading business families of the country. The entire Shekhawati region is renowned for the painted havelis. Though the business families do not any longer live in Mandawa, the local caretakers are happy to show visitors around. Amongst the various havelis worth visiting are Chowkhani Haveli, Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli, Lakshminarayan Ladia Haveli, Mohahanlal Saraf Haveli, Bhagchandika Haveli, Old Goenka Shops. The Newtia Haveli, Chowkhani Double Haveli, Harlalka Well, Thakurji Temple, Murmuria Haveli, Goenka Double Haveli, Tanu Manu Saraf Haveli, Harlalka Chattri, Goenka Chattri, Raj Well, Akhramka Haveli, Sonthalia Gate and the Saraf Haveli are other places of tourists’ attraction in Mandawa.
